Reading standards & test claims
A specification defines requirements within a stated scope. A test report records results for identified samples and conditions. Product compatibility and certification claims require matching evidence.
Start with the document
Check the issuing organization, document title, revision and applicable product or interface. USB HID, USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery describe different aspects of an interface.
Match the exact product
Identify model, hardware revision, operating mode and the claimed feature. A feature described by a standard is not proof that every device using that connector or technology implements it.
