Latency & wireless timing

Latency is elapsed time between two defined events. A meaningful claim states its start point, end point, connection mode and test method.

Bluetooth timing

Bluetooth LE connections use timing parameters such as connection interval and peripheral latency. Configuration balances responsiveness, throughput and energy consumption. Support varies with the device, host and specification version.

Compare the whole path

Input sensing, firmware processing, radio scheduling, host processing and display response can all contribute delay. Compare distributions and test conditions as well as averages. A polling-rate figure alone is insufficient.
