DSP & audio processing
Digital signal processing operates on sampled signals. A DSP processor is specialized hardware for running this kind of computation, including audio processing.
In audio products
Processing can implement filtering, equalization and other audio functions. The actual behavior depends on the implemented algorithms and configuration.
How to compare
Ask which processing features are available, whether they run on the device or host, and how settings affect sound and delay. A DSP label alone gives little information about listening quality.
