Connection speed & polling rate

Link speed describes data capacity. Polling or reporting frequency describes how often input information is requested or sent. Both are distinct from the time a complete action takes.

Report interval

For a regularly spaced report frequency f, the nominal interval is 1000 / f milliseconds. Thus 1000 Hz corresponds to 1 ms and 8000 Hz to 0.125 ms between reports.

USB HID

Human Interface Device reports carry input data to the host. The full input path also includes sensing, firmware, host processing and application behavior. A fast transport does not establish an end-to-end latency result.

Report interval calculator

1 ms between reports

This is a nominal interval calculation, not a measurement of input latency.
